Priyanka Bhattacharya

Priyanka Bhattacharya joined TMS in May 2021 as Head of Middle School. She is an educator with more than 16 years’ experience of teaching English, debating, public speaking, writing, and editing in distinguished boarding schools in India. She taught at the Doon School, Dehradun for 15 years, of which 7 years were spent as Head of the English Department. She has taught across the IB, the IGCSE and the ISC curricula. She has also been coordinating Examiner for the ISC Board for their Elective English paper, as well as Team Leader as an IB Examiner for Literature. She has taught and led activities such as English Debating and guided a variety of student-led publications. She is deeply immersed in the flow that connects the academic, pastoral, and cultural lives of her students.  All in all, she values anything that nourishes the life of the mind. She is an alumnus of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where she pursued her MA and M.Phil in Linguistics. She holds an English Literature major from the University of Calcutta.  Additionally, she holds a B.Ed degree as well as an iPGCE from University College London.
